Myst the Camera Hog

It's the last day of May and summer is coming. Oh boy -- a warmer sleeping room and I am practicing sleeping every chance I get. I love sleeping in the summer. (Well, ok, fall, winter and spring too... but its especially fun in the warm summer.)

Terry made an old washed-out picture. I can barely make out any details in this. Alas, we will probably see a LOT of Myst now. He's a camera hog and knows that sleeping on the monitor will get his picture taken more often since Terry is sitting there with a camera at hand. Humpf!

Catnip Lovers

Here's another picture of Lucky and Rocky enjoying fresh catnip. Terry says it is pretty smelly stuff, but I think all cats who enjoy this should make sure their pets grow it every summer. We need to keep our humans busy to keep them out of trouble.

Visiting Lucky & Rocky

My pet humans went to Ashton's birthday party (their grandson) where I relinquished control of them to Lucky and Rocky. They even brought catnip over. Rocky is a flamepoint Himalayan who goes crazy over catnip and Lucky goes crazy watching Rocky go crazy. I love catnip, too.

Watching Everything I Do

Here he is again, watching me as I type my blog, soaking up the heat from the monitor until he gets too hot and jumps down, only to cool off and come back up here again. See those big paws? He is a little bitty cat with giant paws which the humans think is so adorable. They are always remarking on it. Humpf.

After I finish this blog post, I am FOR SURE going to pounce on him and put some energy into that guy. Sitting on monitors and TVs is what *I* am supposed to do around here. I think he needs to run up and down the hall a few times with a Himalayan pawing at him.

Cats are Good for Humans

Myst adores Jenny. She gives him very special ear rubs that nobody else can do as well (see him at http://bamablog.textamerica.com/?r=2706920. We all love when Jenhy comes to visit. Jenny was an only child (not by choice) and her mother figured us cats were the next best thing, so we adopted these humans and adored Jenny. Dandelion practically grew up with her and was her faithful companion. It has been very good for the whole family, I think.

Bathtubs

Bathtubs are still lots of fun, but I am cautious to make sure it is DRY before jumping in one. Myst loves to hide behind the shower curtain. We have pawing battles.

Myst Back Then

This is a picture of Myst when he was almost one year old. His long furry cheeks are not so prevalent here, but he still has a certain look in his eye that he has today.

The Morning Routine

Every day I make my morning rounds through the house, making sure I get brushed, chase Myst, sit with Dandelion and check that every door stays open, blinds opened (I paw windows with closed blinds), get my massage, fresh food and water and lots of attention. Also I check out new boxes or sacks, jump on desks and windows, look in mirrors to say hello to that poor cat trapped behind the glass. Today is another good day.

More in the Haunted Cat Series

Halloween anyone? If I say trick-or-treat, would someone give me a mouse?

Sofas are Beds

A sofa is a wonderful bed. I love them and we cats all enjoy sleeping on them. Terry says something about getting rid of the all the black clothes in her wardrobe now. I am not sure what she means.

I Love Saturdays

I love Saturdays. My humans are always moving around and I sit in their way to watch the action. They bring home grocery sacks that I get to inspect and earlier, Myst was full of energy and chasing me all over the house. Much fun!

You Are Under My Power

I *wish* my pet humans were well-trained. Sometimes I have to wait FOREVER before they realize that I want this door opened so I can go inside to the next room. Still, I try to look as commanding as possible, but instead of opening doors, my pet is pointing a clicking box at me and the light is flashing. Sigh.

Enjoys in the Heat Up There

Myst surprised us all today as we sat around (or in my case, on) the table. Myst came into the kitchen, meowing loudly. We we all startled but Terry got up to see what he wanted.

He led our pet human into the computer room where the computer was turned off and under a dust cover. Myst jumped up on the chair and stared at the computer and at Terry (being the most curious cat in the house, I followed to see what was up).

It did not take Terry long to realize that Myst wanted her to turn the computer on and get the big old monitor all nice and hot for his rest. So she turned it on and put him up there and he was quite content.

Spiderman Fan

Apparently our pet humans are not the only Spiderman fans. Dandelion admits to loving this shirt ... well, ok, he loves it as a bed. But hey, I think it makes a good bed, too, and I am SURE to sleep on top of any fresh laundry myself.

Emmie

This is Emmie, Punkin's sister, that my human also watched last week. She has a lot to say and is a very pretty cat -- hmmm, maybe my new pinup picture!

Meet Punkin

This is Punkin. My pet human babysat Punkin and his sister, Emmie, while their pet humans went to Germany. Their mom was a Katrina rescued cat.

I would not let Terry touch me when she came back until I had sniffed her fingers thoroughly. I could tell there had been another cat around here. Humpf.

Who Dares to Disturb His Sleep?

Terry got out the clicking box and Myst looked at her like "Why are you disturbing my sleep?" Meanwhile, Terry is thinking she will be vacuuming out the back of the monitor more often, now.

Myst's New Favorite Place to Sleep

I was here working on my blog when I heard snoring sounds. Figuring Myst was nearby, I decided to find and pounce on him. Neither Terry nor I could track down the snoring until Myst woke up. He was sleeping on the back of a huge 21" CRT monitor and nobody saw him. Hmmm, it is nice and warm up there. Maybe I will try it, too.

Sleeping

When Myst and Dandelion sleep, they curl up nicely most of the time. Not me. I roll over, stretch out my paws and pretty much look dead. Once in a while I curl up, but I prefer stretching out.

The New Scratch Pad

My pet humans brought home a new scratch pad. They sprinkled catnip on it and oh! it was heavenly. I claimed it for myself and fell asleep on it.

Too Tired to Move

Sometimes one is simply too tired to get all the way INTO the bed, especially on a warm day.

New Things to Sit On

Other than plopping in the way, if the computer is being taken apart, I find sitting on the parts to be lots of fun.

Family Running Around a Lot

Yay! The family is bringing in and out stuff from outside - always fun to sniff stuff from "outside." I love them coming and going out the door and I love plopping down in the middle and watching everyone step over me. I do not understand why Myst will get out the way. Being IN the way is all the fun!

Rocky and Lucky Have 3 Pet Humans

Rocky and Lucky are practically family, but each is very different in personality. Either way, they keep Ashton entertained as he laughs at their antics. They manage to stay just out of his reach.

It's nice to see us cats taking good care of our baby human pets, too.

Rocky is Cautious

Jenny and Jonathan were away and my humans went to see Rocky and Lucky. Lucky came out and greeted everyone and rubbed legs and jumped in laps. Rocky was more cautious, creeping around the house, low to the ground to make sure everyone was friendly, first.
