The Other Handsome Himalayan

I have been visiting that cat in the bathroom window. He wants over to see me as much as I want to see him. We have been working on ways to get past this clear wall and over to see each other. From the looks of it, his house seems pretty nice to me. I think I would be just as comfortable there. Not only that, his pets have clicking boxes too. I wonder if Myst would chase him off, though.

Not a Dog, but....

What you see here is a calm, cool and collected Myst. DO NOT LET THAT FOOL YOU! This morning, Terry heard an ear-splitting screech.

This was not the same low pitched but very loud scream that Myst uses for dogs. This was an extremely agitated angry scream. Apparently there was something worse outside than a dog. It was ... ANOTHER ADULT CAT. And wow, Myst was just plain aggravated.

I feel safer now, knowing Myst is on patrol.

Sharing Space

Things get crowded around here and we have to share space sometimes as Dandelion is doing with Richard. Dandelion does not mind the extra warm legs, though.

P.S. Thanks to Beau, comes word of this site. Just click on the big button to donate food to needy animals: http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=3

Watching

This is where we cats like to sit when our humans are eating breakfast. Yep, it is right next to the table and we get our choice of watching humans eat or looking out of the window.

Humans are constantly entertaining, You never know when they will do something silly like stepping under falling water (and calling it a shower). I keep showing them how to lick themselves clean, but they only lick their fingers after eating messy food. Oh well, I shall never give up trying to train them.

Safe Vantage Point

Good defensive position. Nobody can attack so easily, especially with my thick fur shield.

Does it Roll?

Fresh milk rings are the best because they smell so good, but older ones can be fun too. I am the cat who paws at things the most. I think I am the most curious and like to know if anything can roll or bounce well.

Eight Inches of Snow Predicted

The newspaper printed on its front page "8 Inches of Snow Predicted Here." I am not even sure what snow is, but Terry says it is really fun white stuff. I watched for it but nothing happened. In fact, it did not even rain one drop. The streets were dry the next day. Terry was disgusted. Oh well, I got a nice viewing point from it all and watching disgusted humans is amusing.

Ear Scratches from Jenny

Pure bliss is when Jenny comes over and scratches our ears. Of course, when she brings that small human, Ashton, we prefer to hide. So it becomes kind of tricky dodging Ashton and finding Jenny.

Good Smells

Terry is trying a "lower in carb" diet (her doctor recommends 120 grams of carbs a day as a reasonable amount to live with). I think this is an excellent diet because there are more smells of meat and cheese and eggs in the house now. It's a very pleasant aroma and I walk around sniffing the air more often.

Humans should bottle and sell these smells for perfume - much better than that stinky flowery stuff they wear.

I Dare Not Move

I bet Myst is just waiting for me to stir and then POUNCE! I will show him. I am going to sleep here a long, long time.

Dog Excitement

Yesterday was wild! Terry came home to Myst looking out through the blinds and Dandelion looking out of the garage and oh, the noise!! They were both screaming mad at the husky dog that got out of the neighbor's fence and who was looking at them in a friendly way.

Now, I do not like dogs. I hiss at them, but I am not the defender of the house or the boss, so its Myst's and Dandelion's jobs to keep us all safe and to dominate. I did feel a bit disgruntled at all of the yelling going on, though, and was glad when Terry came home and took care of the matter. Whew.

Cheese

Terry is trying to stick with, what she says, is 120 carbs a day. I am not sure what that means, but I like what she is eating. Yesterday she had some cheese that we cats wanted to sniff. Curious stuff, that is, though nobody but Dandelion wanted to really taste it.

Here's My Morning Seat

Yes, I jumped up on the table and made myself comfortable on this newspaper until Terry got out her clicking box, then I jumped off. See? I was pretty fast - no sign of me here.

It Rained Last Night

I find storms to be mostly annoying things, but I do like to be around my pets. When it rains lightly, Myst goes into the hall and waits. When it rains harder, he dives for some obscure spot under the sofa where nobody can go. We did not see Myst all evening for the storms we had. Dandelion seems to not mind them so much either way.

It's been fun around here. Terry has been coming home smelling like something she calls "chlorine" and moans about something called "water aerobics." Anyway, we are sure to check her out carefully. New smells are always a curiosity.

Getting Attention

I just wanted attention today. I led Terry down the hall, changed my mind and went off into one room, changed my mind and led her into another room. She was following me pretty well, so I turned around, went out of the bedrooms and into the kitchen, then made a quick turn into the living room. By now, she was standing there with her hands on her hips looking at me silly. What? I was getting attention, wasn't I? That was the plan all along.

Warmer Days Ahead

It has been warmer the last few days. Ah, I love warmth. Dandelion especially does (maybe cause he is 18 years old) and so does Myst, though he has a heated bed in that monitor.

Myst's Winter Bed

Myst has it made. He has found a way to stay out of trouble and still watch the goings-on. Today, the little one-and-a-half-year-old human came over. This little guy is being raised with cats so he understands us (he thinks).

He grabbed the cat brush and came after me, thinking I would want to be brushed. Well, yes, I love being brushed, but ONLY BY MY OWN PET HUMANS. So basically I ran under the bed and he ran after me. Then I jumped on the bed and he started to climb up, but I jumped off and ran down the hall. He never caught me though my pets were keeping a close eye on all of us. We all got a lot of exercise. I do not think Terry needs that gym club membership anymore.

Sun and Play

Sunlight is good, no matter how warm the house or where I have to go to sit in a patch of it, even under the coffee table up against one side of it. Myst and I have done a lot of chasing each other this week. We are so active these days. Even Dandelion seems more alert. Terry wonders if there is some secret to being more energetic.
