The Dog Next Door

Here's the dog next door. I hiss at dogs, but they are ok through a glass window. In fact, it is kind of interesting to watch them run up and down the side of the fence while barking at other dogs. My humans even buy treats for this dog if you can believe that!

Dandelion's Innocent and Sweet Look

Dandelion has a way of getting what he wants. He is good with the "sweet-innocent-me" look, too. Terry gave up and titled her Flickr account name as "Terry the Cat Slave." It's at http://www.BamaPhotos.com.

Not Being Sneaky

Everyone says I have ulterior motives and just want to see humans stumble. Not true! I enjoy sticking out a paw. It is relaxing. Sometimes I sleep with both paws out and my head on them. Honest!

Seven Things About Me

Continuing with the last tag from Frostin of seven things about us cats, here are mine:

1. Besides eating and sleeping, I crave being brushed MOST of all. I beg for it constantly. Five times a day is not enough.

2. I love to run. Good thing we have long halls. I ESPECIALLY love being chased by humans or cats.

3. I adore flies and moths - self propelled buzzing and moving toys is all they are.

4. I talk to everyone, even other cats. They say cats reserve their meows for humans. Not me. I talk to Dandelion all the time and let him know when I am entering a room (Terry says he is deaf and does not hear me, but well, I play it safe just in case).

5. I am missing a dominance gene. Let other cats rule. I politely wait my turn for a treat and never try to dominate cats. Good thing since Myst and Dandelion have a "who's the boss" problem. Humans are another matter - they need bossing and direction.

6. I am more curious than other cats around here. I have to inspect each bag of groceries and look in the fridge when it is opened, examine that handsome cat in the mirror, sniff the daily mail, come over to see why babies are crying, etc. You name it and I want to check it out. I don't understand why Myst and Dandelion are so ho-hum about some of these things.

7. I am fluffy, not fat. Many breeds of Himalayans are supposed to be rounded - makes humans want to hug us more. Not a bad thing.

Seven Things About Myst

Continuing the tag from Frostin, here are seven things about Myst. Myst ...

1. Would sleep on the monitor all day if he did not get too hot.
2. Loves watching out the door the most of all of us. Myst especially likes leaves blowing by - and is very happy when someone brings one into the house.
3. Favorite snack is butter. Well, actually, that's the only snack he likes other than his cat food. He just does not like human food at all.
4. Favorite toy (other than moths and flies) are sparkle balls. He carries them in his mouth around the house, but has a tendency to drop them as soon as Terry gets out the camera.
5. Loves to be brushed. If he thinks I am getting brushed, he rushes right into the room to try and get in edgewise.
6. Is on a special diet to prevent more kidney stones. Even though Myst is only a few years old, he does not have the best health and has to watch his diet.
7. Likes to sleep with humans, er, actually on top of Terry if she lays still enough.

Tagged from http://frostinschronicles.blogspot.com/

We all got tagged from Frostin, but Dandelion, the leader and my hero, will go first. I interviewed him and this is what he said:

1. I like soft moist treats in cans, except for the beef flavor. I leave that to Muddy.

2. I love to wind myself around your legs and lick them if you do not pet me fast enough.

3. Watching birds is a favorite pastime (other than sleeping).

4. I was born in in 1989 and am still healthy and doing well except I no longer hear things, but I am sleeping very very well, rarely disturbed.

5. I am the largest cat in this house with 3 cats and the boss (Myst usually tries to argue that point).

6. I used to recognize the sound of my pet human's car and get eager for petting when they get home, but now I recognize it visually.

7. Sleeping on newspapers is fun to do.

Thanks for tagging me, Frostin. The others will have their turns in the next few days. -- Dandelion

Meet Rick and Kiki

Here's a picture from Rick vs Kiki Blog which is also a cat blogging (and drawing on the photos - that's a talented cat). We wanted to exchange links, but there is no easy way to add links to my blog here. (Has anyone figured out some way to do it?)

Myst's Monitor

Yes, he is up here every day. Now that the weather is getting cooler, I expect he will be up here more often and for longer spells of time. Terry put me up here once, but I was too er, heavy, and the monitor wobbled. I did not like that at all! Myst can have it up there. I will stay on the desk or, even better, in the chair when its prewarmed.

But I Want to Stay Here

What? You want me to jump down? Whatever for? How can you ask that of such a sweet cat as me?

New Cat Furniture

It's nice of my humans to get out a new thing for me to sit on. I even like sitting inside when they open it. I could sleep here all day.

Playtime in the Sink

Dandelion and Myst are convinced the only good water is sink water, nevermind that they get fresh water. I am not so crazy about sink water and I think they are silly for wanting it so much. I would rather get that good looking other Himalayan out from behind the glass.

Who's Watching Whom?

Usually we look outside and watch all the great moving things there like birds and leaves. Today, though, Terry was dusting which means a lot of moving around and we cats kept an eye on her.

Bin Muddy

Yes, I like to sit in the recycling bin. As a result, my pet humans lay the newspapers in very flat and carefully and keep their cans and other stuff in a separate bag until the day they take the bin to the curb -- all just so I can relax in comfort. I have well-trained pets.

He's Still Here

Yes, Myst is still here. Knowing this is Terry's favorite spot to sit, Myst has decided to make this his permanent sleeping place.

When I was Younger

Here I am as a kitten. I had endless energy then and would run and play like crazy, then suddenly I would drop in the middle of the floor from exhaustion. I suppose that is the way of kittens.

I am wiser now and more carefully plan sleeping such as waiting for a human to get up from a chair and jumping right in the nicely-warmed spot.

Contented and Proud of Himself

Myst has a good strategy. He sits in Terry's favorite spot on the sofa as soon as she gets up for a moment. It is prewarmed and just perfect. Then he assumes this long-contented look as though he is well-settled and has been there for hours. (Basically, he is just proud of himself.) When Terry comes back, she does not have the heart to dislodge him so she finds somewhere else to sit.

Myst is one smart cat.

Dryer Inspection Time

I love when this door is open and do not worry, Terry always looks inside before shutting it AND I am VERY LOUD should there ever be a problem. I am the loudest member of the family -- must be my Siamese heritage.

My Hero

Dandelion looks regal and handsome no matter what he does. He may not get his picture taken as often as us younger guys because we get into more ridiculous trouble and run around more, while he likes to sleep. He has much dignity and he's my hero.
