In Memoriam

I do not usually print pictures of humans, but sometimes a human deserves special mention. Terry's brother, Jeff, passed away last Saturday after a long battle with illness that came about because of a birth defect. She had flown far away to attend his funeral but is back home now.

This is a picture of Jeff with his 4 children. He was always glad to be owned by a cat and was currently owned by a cute fuzzy cat that needed a home. He was so very kind to children and animals and was a loving and gentle man who spent much time with his family. He also had 6 brothers and sisters, who all grew up with cats. Their mother was raised with cats and their grandmother - and it seems to go back for generations. Jeff will be missed by all.

When I was a Kitten

Here's an old picture of Danelion (my hero) and me. There were two cats living here when I came. One did not like me so I stayed out of his way and we got along fine.

The other was Dandelion and he likes kittens just fine. He's my hero. Here we are hanging out and being cool together.

Will I Fit?

Will I fit in here? I think so, but I hear my pet humans taking bets on it. Humpf. Don't they know I am mostly fluff?

Just for Me

If the humans are packing things and laying things down, even for a minute, I will find them and sit there. I know they put it down just for me.

How to Get Attention

This is a well-known way to get attention. Sit where humans need to reach and they are sure to pet you or pick you up, first.

Good Observation Point

Terry says I look majestic. Its not a bad place to keep an eye on things, here in the living room by the front door, facing the kitchen and the hall.

Waiting for a Warm Lap

This is where Terry likes to sit on the sofa. Myst does his best to keep the spot warm until Terry sits here. Of course she picks him up and sets him in her lap, which was his plan all along. Myst likes to be picked up and put places. Not the rest of us cats. We prefer to get there ourselves. Maybe Myst just knows he is smaller and can not get to the really high places on his own.

Waiting for Spring

I wish summer would get here already. The floor is cold and drafty. No wonder we cats prefer to sit on anything but the floor.

Twist Ties

I love twist ties, though Terry watches me closely when I get one and takes it away when she leaves because I have been known to try and eat them.

Laundry day is fun too. We get to play in these tipped over laundry baskets.

Myst is OK

We always worry about Myst since he had kidney stones in the past, but so far, it was just a spell of indigestion, though the problems could return.

Found Out How to Post Links

Once I spent forever trying to find out how to post links to your sites and could not find a way, but now I just discovered that it is a Blogger option! I am adding links now and have posted links for those who left comments recently.

On the downside, Myst is sick again with another uti. We hope this does not mean more kidney stones have formed like they did a year ago. Myst is going to the vet's as soon as they open today. He may have to stay a few days because he is so small, very hard to test and impossible to give a pill to at home. We will miss him a lot.

UPDATE: It turned out to be indigestion and Myst recovered quickly. We think he got into Dandelion's food and ate stuff that did not agree with him.

Keeping an Eye on Our Pets

Myst is keeping a close eye on our pet human. She also pets him from time to time and he gets to chase the cursor. When the small human comes over, Myst is out of reach and can glance at him with proper disdain and amusement.

Who is Going to Make the First Move?

"Come down here and get me!"

"No, you come up here. I am ready for you!"

"I am waiting for you to move first."

"I am waiting for YOU to move first."

And thus it was a standoff and test of patience. You may wonder who won? Alas, being somewhat of a crazy hyper cat, I made the first move. We got some good up and down the hall chasing in, though.

Sleep of the Dead

I don't just sleep curled into a little ball like the other cats here, I pretty much fall over and look totally dead, paws outstretched. Terry says it makes for endless fun with the clicking box.

Sitting Here Calmly... Sure....

We are not KNOCKING over anything. Promise!

Always on the Alert

Next month, on March 9th, Dandelion will turn 19 years old. Even at his age and being deaf, he is healthier than us other two cats, due to good genes and a well mixed background.

My Sitting Bin

This is my recycling bin. The family used to keep cans and bottles in here as well as newspapers. They noticed that I wanted to sit here a lot so they put only newspapers in it and use another sack for cans and bottles and stuff during the week. They are good pets.

Tornadoes Last Night

Bad storms blew around us last night. Tornadoes came very close and I had to herd my humans into the bathroom at one point so we could all hide. Of course, being in the bathroom with them wide awake in the middle of the night was ok because... they had a brush.

They were not too comfortable though. The winds blew and it was storming. I think petting me helped them. We heard of much damage and loss of life after. Our hearts go out to all of the animals and humans who did not fare as well as us.

Keeping Them Healthy

Alas, we have never been able to get Dandelion and Myst to like each other and they still can not remain in the same room. They have the room-swapping routine down and both get to wander the house and garage (which is more like a den), but not at the same time, so some doors have to stay shut around here. I abhor shut doors and demand to go in or out then back in and back out then in again. I can go anywhere and I always do.

Terry says I am good for her health as she works at the computer. I keep her getting up often to rest her eyes and legs from sitting. Yep, all I am trying to do is keep my humans healthy, of course.

I Like Shoes

Shoes are good. They are smelly sometimes and have been around "outside" and other places. I love them and could sit by them or on them all day.

This is a presurgery picture of me in the middle of trying tell my human a few things.

What is this stuff?

Hmmm, this is so strange. Is this a toy? Is it food? Is it alive?

Best Friends

Rocky and Lucky met as kittens, so they became very close. Somehow, in my home, we never got to that point of licking each other and sleeping together. We enjoy a good chase, though.

Lucky was a cat who needed adopting, like Dandelion. We all need to adopt humans, actually. I can't imagine being without mine.

Cousin Rocky

As a reminder, Rocky and Lucky own Jenny and her family. I own Jenny's Mom and her family. We have such good pet humans, though they do not always learn the things we try to teach them.

Rocky was successful today since he got his pet to put a milk ring on his stool.
