The family noticed Dandelion had sores in his mouth and was moving slowly last night so he went to the vet first thing this morning. We knew it was serious because he is 19 years old and everything is serious at that age.
At best, we hoped for just a dental cleaning and antibiotic but he had the worst, a renal failure and even with heroic measures, his life would not be much longer or easier. He passed away today.
Terry says he was the smartest, kindest, most loving cat she ever knew. He would go outside on a leash. He would let children hold him and loved all people. She said he was the closest thing to a brother that her only daughter had in growing up.
When his adopted brother died a few years ago, he never got over it, always looking for him and calling for him at night, though I was a pretty good distraction sometimes.
We are sad, but happy for having shared life and wonders with Dandelion. Dandelion was my hero.
